Next year's Annual Meeting in Lancaster County, PA has been 2 years in planning and preparation. As a result, it shall be a spectacular event taking members back to the very origins of Mennonite and Anabaptist origins in the USA. Our host is none other than Lemar & Lois Mast and her team, well known for their Anabaptist tours to Switzerland, and yes, publisher and supplier of the incredible resources available at Masthof Press.
Now is the time to start planning your trip. The Friday tour will be limited to the first reserved first come basis and will easily be a sell-out. Two new features will be included next year, first an after-dinner speaker on Friday: "The Swiss Who Migrated to the Palatinate, Germany” by Edsel Burdge; and secondly, Saturday after-lunch session: “Using DNA to Sort Out the Genealogical Hurdles of Amish-Mennonite Surnames” by Darvin Martin. We have received many inquiries about a program on DNA and this is just for you.
You can begin registration beginning now. Registration fees are accepted BY CHECK ONLY [there will be no credit card or PayPal payments] and payment at the door at the time of the event is not an option.
You do not have to be a SAGA member to attend the events, but priority will be given to SAGA members who register early. This event will be published locally and will also be published in Mennonite Family History forthcoming. So I encourage to secure your seat at the table early.
Payment at the door on Saturday morning is possible for those who want to attend the Saturday meeting only. Although the $10 registration fee will be collected, it is best also to send in your intent so that meals and snack/refreshments can be planned accordingly.
Hoosierly Yours,
