For those who are driving to the 2024 SAGA Annual Meeting April 19-20
[Details found on the SAGA Home Page under Meetings]
Want to remind you of Bob Geiser's post about getting an EZ pass to reduce your toll fees in PA. It costs $35.00 plus a $3.00 registration fee.
How it works. You fill out the form on their website and provide them with a credit card to "bank" your $35.00. They send you a responder device you place on your windshield. Then each time you pass through a toll using the EZ pass lane, it will deduct what you owe from your account. When the account goes down and needs replenishing, it will charge your card another $35.00.
You can use the EZ pass in other states (including Indiana I assume).
Then when you don't want it anymore, you return it to them and they will refund any balance left on your account.
PA Turnpike Tolls are high (Ohio line to Morgantown (298) is $85.20 or $41.80 with E-ZPass)

Yes, you are correct James. We have used the EZ Pass in Indiana, as well as
Illinois, Ohio, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina and DC. Actually
according to the web site it is used in 19 states east of the Mississippi
River. Almost all of them save you about 50% on your tolls. Well worth
having it if you do any traveling.

Amen to the guidance from Jim and Merle. But for those who might use the
Ohio Turnpike from end to end, the cost is only $15.75 with EZ Pass and
$23.25 without. Furthermore, if you use I70 in Ohio and into Pennsylvania
to New Stanton, I70 is free and New Stanton to Morgantown costs $29.40 with
EZ Pass and $59.60 without.

Things are just a bit more simplified tyhan that for described by others
for the PA Turnpike. All tolls are now electronic with no stopping to pay a
toll. I picture is taken of your license plate and you are billed
accordingly. You can still pay through the E-Z Pass system, but it is no
longer necessary.

You may not have to stop at the tolls, but with EZ pass you save about 60% of the cost of the toll.
