In a follow up reply I made to Merle Christner today, he had questioned the two very different death dates for Barbara Yoder married to Elias Beachy. It seems that all the databases but one use Amish and Amish Mennonite Genealogies as their date source which is February 6, 1865. Loren Johns used 1864. Loren used OneWorldTree.
Ancestry.com. One World Tree (sm) [database online]. Provo, UT: MyFamily.com, Incas his source.
In researching which date is most likely to be accurate, I discovered that the 1860 US Census have both Elias and Barbara in it recorded October 4, 1860 which makes it impossible for Barbara to have died in 1854.
As many of our databases now appear to have the error of 1854, I wanted to make sure this information is shared and updated.

We're getting things confused here between corrections and typos!
As James has indicated in a followup message, the most common death date
reported is Feb. 6, 1854 (not 1865--typo in his first message).
Feb. 6, 1854 is the date reported in The Memorial History of Peter Bitsche
(1892) #272. This source does not report a death place for Barbara, but
mentions New Bedford [Coshocton Co.), Ohio as Elias's then current
residence.
At the Gingerich & Kreider entry for YR26112 Barbara (p. 516 of 1st ed.),
G&K leave the death date for Barbara blank, but cite MHPB and the 1860
census. This suggests to me that they noticed the discrepancy James points
out: Barbara is clearly listed with Elias in the 1860 census so an 1854
death date for Barbara is almost surely wrong.
Back under Elias Beachy BC136 (p. 6 of G&K 1st ed.), however, G&K did
report the 2/6/1854 Holmes Co. Ohio death date for Barbara--citing
Descendants of Barbara Hostetler 2345 (publ. 1938). DBH specifically states
Barbara lived at New Bedford, OH at the time of her death--so either
misinterpreting MHPB or "enhancing" the information for some other reason.
(I still remain amazed at the high level of accuracy achieved by G&K's
first edition--done before the convenience of online access to many basic
records, and still produced from typewritten, unsearchable drafts!)
I definitely agree with Loren that One Family Tree is not a reliable
source, still there seems to be good reason for at least stating that
Barbara died after Oct. 8, 1860. As no doubt Loren and James also have
done, I did some searching for confirmation of Barbara's burial in Garrett
Co., MD (in the 1860s still Allegheny Co., MD), but without success.
Perhaps someone with access to the Garrett Co. DAR cemetery index and
update volume can report back on whether there is information? (Of course,
whether and how an 1860s farm grave would have been marked, and whether
that marker would still be legible is up in the air!)

As I had emailed to both Loren and James, I was at the site of Elias and
Barbara's farm in Garrett (Allegany) County just outside of Grantsville
several years ago and saw Barbara's tombstone. I don't know if I can put
attachments on the list serve but if anyone is interested I can send you
photos of the tombstone, the 1960 Census where Barbara and Elias are listed
in Allegany (Garret) County and a copy of the page out of the book *The

As I had emailed to both Loren and James, I was at the site of Elias and
Barbara's farm in Garrett (Allegany) County just outside of Grantsville
several years ago and saw Barbara's tombstone. I don't know if I can put
attachments on the list serve but if anyone is interested I can send you
photos of the tombstone, the 1960 Census where Barbara and Elias are listed
in Allegany (Garret) County and a copy of the page out of the book *The
Beachy Family Our American Roots. *
Merle Christner
Merle, please send me the photos, census, and book page.
Thanks,
-- Jeff

As James has indicated in a followup message, the most common death date
reported is Feb. 6, 1854 (not 1865--typo in his first message).
Feb. 6, 1854 is the date reported in The Memorial History of Peter
Bitsche (1892) #272. This source does not report a death place for
Barbara, but mentions New Bedford [Coshocton Co.), Ohio as Elias's then
current residence.

Loren Johns used 1864. Loren used
OneWorldTree.
Ancestry.com. One World Tree (sm) [database online]. Provo, UT:
MyFamily.com, Inc
as his source.
In researching which date is most likely to be accurate, I discovered
that the 1860 US Census have both Elias and Barbara in it recorded October
4, 1860 which makes it impossible for Barbara to have died in 1854.
As many of our databases now appear to have the error of 1854, I wanted
to make sure this information is shared and updated.
